Rihanna Partners With H&M For “Fashion Against AIDS”

Rihanna
Rihanna
and several other artists are working with H&M and Designers Against AIDS to create a new clothing line, made entirely of organic clothing, called “Fashion Against AIDS,” which will be available globally in February 2008. Twenty-five percent of the proceeds will go towards AIDS prevention projects worldwide. Some of the money will also go towards HIV/AIDS awareness.

Today, twelve million people between the ages of 15 and 24 are infected with the HIV/AIDS virus, and that number is growing daily. According to the founder of YouthAIDS, Kate Roberts, “Every second, someone in the 15-24 age group contracts HIV/AIDS.”

Rihanna said, “Supporting YouthAIDS through the Fashion Against AIDS campaign was a great way for me to encourage my fans to join me in the fight against HIV/AIDS. I love that H&M is providing a fashionable and easy way for young people to to get involved in this worthy cause.”

The garments will vary from $12.90 to $34.90 and all have a subtle accompanying message such as “Be aware it’s still happening,” which is the entire point of this product: Awareness.
