Julia Roberts Dishes About Herself, the Environment, the Media and Britney Spears

Julia Roberts, famous actress and “America’s Sweetheart” seems to have everything. In the next issue of Vanity Fair, available to the public at large November 13, 2007, the mother of three (twins Hazel and Phinnaeus and baby Henry) does a lot of opening up. But there’s nothing wrong with a little preview.

Like many people - famous people and everyday people - Julia Roberts confesses to being worried about the environment. “You can’t help but be aware, because now we are a home of five people.” She goes so far as to use chlorine-free non-toxic diapers for the twins, and plastic-free, flushable diapers (gDiapers) for Henry. I guess everyone’s trying to be a little more green.

Julia had a rather revealing insight about the film industry. She is not a fan of the paparazzi, and is extremely upset when they take pics of the kids. To quote her, “I just feel it’s so demeaning the way they behave, and I hate the fact that I even put any energy into thinking about it or being stressed about it.” The wise mother adds, “And really, more than anything, it just has to do with my kids.”

Julia’s dislike of the paparazzi probably has some influence on the way she feels about Britney Spears. “I see and hear what’s happening to Britney Spears and it’s all I can do not to move her into my guest house and say, ‘Okay, this is how it’s going to be!’ And I can just take care of her.” Clearly, Julia’s maternal instinct doesn’t end with her own flesh and blood.

But for all that, the Oscar-winning actress has a very surprising inspiration. “My dream is to be a highly-productive and fulfilled stay-at-home wife.” She adds, “The highest high would be growing our own food that I make, and then composting and growing more - that kind of circle.”
