Has Paris Hilton Been Left In The Cold?

Paris Hilton’s grandfather, Barron Hilton, announced Wednesday that he intended to leave the vast majority of his fortune to a charity, the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, which was established by his father. A statement from the foundation said that Barron plans “to contribute 97 percent of his entire net worth, estimated today at $2.3 billion, including the created trusts, at whatever value it is at the time of his passing.”

The foundation tries to “relieve the suffering, the distressed and the destitute” by doing things like providing clean water in Africa, educating the blind, and providing housing for the mentally ill.

What does this have to do with Paris? Well other than it being “her” inheritance being offered up, Jerry Oppenheimer, who wrote “House of Hilton” believes that Barron Hilton is embarrassed by his granddaughter’s antics, and has “sullied the family name.” Barron has offered no comment as per those allegations, and Paris was unavailable for a comment as to her grandfather’s plans.

The truth is: three percent of $2.3 billion is still a lot of money (don’t ask me how much, I’m terrible at math), and Paris is doing pretty well on her own: reality TV show, perfume, clothing, new movies, etc. The only reason she’d have to be upset about it is pure selfishness… and I won’t put that past her, either.

The foundation, however, is ecstatic - for obvious reasons. Steven Hilton, who is one of Barron’s sons as well as the president and chief executive of the foundation, said, “Speaking for the family as well as the foundation, we are all exceedingly proud and grateful for this extraordinary commitment.”
