Grammy Winner and Jazz Producer Joel Dorn passed away yesterday (Monday) at age 65. Joel is best known for his work with Atlantic Records’ between 1967 and 1974. Dorn’s work bridged the gap between jazz and pop.
Joel Dorn and Roberta Flack won consecutive record of the year Grammys in 1972 and ‘73 for the songs, “The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face” and “Killing Me Softly With His Song.” Joel also formed his own labels in later years.
Unlike Dan Fogelberg who died in his sleep, Joel died of a heart attack.
