I have a hard time respecting Donald Trump, but every once in awhile, he does something that makes me think maybe he’s not so bad, after all. A few days ago, Donald Trump tipped a server $10,000 on an $82 bill. To see the bill, and Trump’s signature with it, you can go here.
If you’ve ever served tables, you know how poorly people can tip some times, and if I’d been this waiter, I’d have thought this was one of those times. The waiter told Derobed, “When I was telling them about the specials, I felt like an airline steward must feel giving instructions before takeoff. They just talked over me. Neither touched the soup.”
When he was getting ready to leave, Trump told the waiter he was good at his job, and asked him what the best tip he’d ever received was. The waiter told him that Jerry Bruckheimer, who comes in frequently, once left $500 on a $1000 bill.
“Trump and the other guy got up to leave, said thanks again and left. I went back to the table to grab the check but didn’t have time to look at it until later. When I did, I couldn’t believe what I saw.”
Do you think Nick Lachey or Nicky Hilton tipped that much at American Bistro? I doubt it.

Unfortunately, this was said by The Donald himself to be a hoax. He’s too busy declaring bankruptcy on his non-performing real estate to ever give anyone that big a tip.
