Jenna Fischer’s Finally A Star?

The Office’s wholesome girl next door actress Jenna Fischer has had her virginity broken. Paparazzi stalking viriginity, that is. A pap popped up a snapped some pics of her and her sis when she exited a grocery store in Beverly Hills recently. At first she thought it was for some “famous person” behind her, but […]

There are only four wide-release films opening this weekend and two limited-release films.

In this category are Vantage Point, Be Kind Rewind, Charlie Bartlett and Witless Protection.

I’ve been seeing the trailers for Vantage Point a fair bit and it looks like it has the potential to be a blockbuster, with a fairly large number […]

Hollywood Hurting For Film Ideas?

I know that the WGA only recently voted to end their three-month strike, but surely they can’t be so low on movie ideas as to have to turn popular board games, such as Monopoly, into feature fims. Or is that some idiot executive thinking they can cash in? I mean, who even plays board games […]

Is Paul Sorvino On the Hot Seat With Film Investors?

Can you believe actor Paul Sorvino is almost 69? He’s had a long film and TV career dating back to 1970 that includes Mambo Italiano (2003), Bulworth (1998), the Romeo + Juliet (1996) remake starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes, Goodfellas (1990) and a short stint on TV’s Law & Order.
More recently, Sorvino has taken […]

Three Actors to Supplement Heath Ledger in ‘Parnassus’ Movie

The last movie that Heath Ledger was working on before his death in January was the Terry Gilliam-directed The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. Production was halted for a while, with Johnny Depp rumored as a replacement (or more specifically, as a supplementary actor).
Now the news is that three actors will be added to the cast. […]

Top Box Office Movies - Mon Feb 18, 2008

The top of last weekend’s movie box office receipts was dominated by several new movies. Jumper (Hayden Christensen, Samuel L. Jackson) took top spot, followed by The Spiderwick Chronicles and Step Up 2 The Streets. Definitely, Maybe (Ryan Reynolds) only took fifth spot. (Fourth place was taken by Fool’s Gold, which opened the previous weekend.)

Paris Hilton’s The Hottie and the Nottie: Worst Movie Ever?

The Hottie and the Nottie, a horrid-looking movie starring Paris Hilton, not only tanked in the box office after opening on Fri Feb 8th, but it also has been voted the worst movie in history, by IMDB users. In fact, several of her movies have. I’m wondering if the producers of Showtime’s The L Word […]

Star Trek XI Stuck in the Transporter: Release Pushed to 2009

Variety reports that Star Trek XI, helmed by JJ Abrams of Lost and Cloverfield fame, is being pushed from Dec 25 of this year to May 8, 2009. The reasoning is that it’ll do better in the box office as a summer release. This is of course hugely disappointing to those of us that feel […]
