This weekend, Beyonce Knowles stripped down to a pair of tight jeans and not much else (earrings) for a photoshoot promoting her clothing line, House of Dereon. I have to admit, I love the fleur-de-lis “squiggle” on the jeans. One News of the World source said, “Bey wanted to show just how seductive the label can be.”
The name “Dereon” is a tribute to Beyonce’s grandmother, Agnez Dereon. House of Dereon sells women’s fashion in outerwear, sportswear and footwear. The clothing line’s tagline is “Where the sidewalk and catwalk meet.” I’m not sure I agree, but they tried. And, evidently, Beyonce participates in choosing, approving and discussing fashion ideas and designs.
Personally, I’m not a fan of much of the clothing. I do like some of the shoes, and a couple of the tops. The one below is the only one I’d buy, and at $78, I’m sure I could find something equally nice elsewhere:
But to each his own, and if you’re interested in checking out Beyonce’s clothing line, go to the House of Dereon. There’s a lot that isn’t there: the jeans aren’t featured online yet, there are no skirts, handbags, swimwear or jackets, despite their being options for all of them. It’s a little disappointing.
